New Painting Exercise

Hello everybody,

I don't have a lot of time for my blog lately. But a lot of cool things are on the way! Here is the new excercise my buddies at Avalanche and I started during our lunch break: copying a painting in an hour (no color picking allowed).

Fun, fun!

We started with a painting of one of my favorite painter Alex Kanevsky

Here is the original by Monsieur Kanevsky:

And here is mine:

I didn't care much about the drawing. I tried to concentrate on colors and values instead.

Snowy Road - 35 min

Speedscape... It's been a while!

Malibu

Well, I don't have much to post lately! Everything I'm working on at work or outside of work is confidential. :( I'll be able to show all of that in the near futur. So in the mid time, here is another skydome I made for the final level of Hannah Montana.

The Tower - Update

Quick update on "The Tower", a four pages Graphic Novel I'm working on with Sébastien Hostaléry (the talented french writer!)
I'm done with the first 2 pages and I'm currently working on the drawing of page 03.
Here are the first three pictures of page 02.

Cairo

Okay, I know, these are flashy colors! But hey, that's for Hannah Montana you know! :)

Sydney

Here is a bridge I painted for the Sydney Level of Hannah Montana. Also part of a skydome.

Portraits

Back to blogging after a great, long and restful Christmas break. I hope yours was as good as mine!
This year, I wanted to give a more original present than usual to my wife Tanya. So I made her a portrait of our little boy, Thomas, 18 months and a portrait of her in a 1920's setting. I didn't have time to finish hers for Christmas but here it is, still unfinished. I really enjoyed making these portraits and I thought I could make them for people out there. I could put any settings you want or extra props etc... just to make it more personal and original. I don't know how much I'll charge yet but I'll think about it.
So if you are interested, let me know: sgallegopub@yahoo.fr

Happy New Year everybody!!

Editorial Illustration

I'm not much of a Editorial Illustrator but I had the chance to get a few freelance jobs in that area, here and there.
Here is a little sample:

Christmas Time

Well, here it is! I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and want to thank you all for visiting this blog. You guys are great! I wish you the best.

Tokyo

I wanted to apologize to all of you guys for the lack of communication: I'm very busy with various projects and I don't have the time to answer your very nice comments. But I wanted to tell you that they are much appreciated! I'm hoping to come back to a normal communication eventually.
But there's something I can still do though: POST!

Ps: My good friend and very talented artist Tom help me with all the signs that were actually blinking on that picture. The final result was pretty fun to watch.

Rome

I know, that could have been Paris too!

Hannah Skydome: Rio

Wow, I didn't post anything for a while, sorry guys! I greatly appreciated all your feedbacks on the Business Card. I found them all really helpful. I started making the changes and I'm going to make other ones that I will also post here for more feedback.

So!

Avalanche just released Hannah Montana for the Wii. I worked on skydomes for that project (you know, these paintings in the background of video games that "close" the 3D worlds). It was a fun experience. In the game, Hannah performs in different cities of the world. Here is the background painting for RIO. There is a total of 4 differents layers for the mountains and 2 differents layers for the clouds that slowly move.

Business Card

Well well well.
I'm not much of a Graphic Designer. So when the time comes to make my own business card, things get complicated. I really don't know if this is working, so please give me some feedback! Please!!

Ps: Just for the exercise, I put fake info so don't send me chocolate at this address or I'll never receive it!
