Unexpected Gift Color

Here is the (way old) color version of the drawing below. It feels good to look at an old painting like this one and to see immediatly all the things you could do to make it better... and there are a lot of these in this one!! :)

Unexpected gift

I always loved creepy looking Santas. Don't ask me why, I don't know. It might be the remaining influence of Jean-Pierre Jeunet (director of Amelie and The City of Lost Children) who I considered my master for many years.
Anyway, here is a drunk Santa and his unexpected gift.

Gustav Klimt / Nicolas de Crécy influences

Okay, this one is really really REALLY old! I made this illustration 7 or 9 years ago. At the time, I was a big fan of Klimt (that explains the gold texture!) and Nicolas de Crecy (a french guy that helped a lot on the movie "The triplettes of Belleville" for those of you who knows this weird (really cool) french movie).
To this day, I still like this illustration. It's just different from what I usually do. I still want to do a graphic novel with gold backgrounds though.

Ps: If you want to rent "The triplettes", don't be afraid, they don't speak french, they just mumbled! (no really..., I'm serious!)

Children Book

Here is an illustration I've made for a Children Book. The story isn't mine so I can't really say much about it except that it was really fun to draw! I'm a really big fan of the Blue Pencil these days. I can't draw with anything else.

Page 18

Well... I think it's time for me to face the truth: I don't have ANY time these days to works on my own projects! (snif!) And since everything I do for Disney is confidential, I will have to wait until the video games I'm working on are released to post what I'm doing right now.

So I guess, while waiting for a less busy time, I'm going to post old stuff still.
I WON'T LET THIS BLOG DIE!!!!!!

Here it is, the page 18 of my first graphic novel project. I finished it (the first volume) almost 3 years ago... At the time, I was painting with Photoshop, using beautifull big fat flat gradients!! :)

I also painted "by numbers" at the time...

Tones of good memories!

Tak 3 Concept Art

I made these pictures a year and a half ago when I started working at Avalanche Software. They were created for the video game "Tak 3: The great Juju Challenge." The panorama was a group effort done with my super Jedi Master/Concept Lead Todd Harris!
