First of all:
Mike (Boldt): Thanks for your comment! I don't think I'll ever have the time to color the sketch below. It would be fun though!
Shawn (Escott): Thanks for stopping by. To answer your question about the blue pencil, this is just for fun, there is no purpose behind it. It's just to have a little bit of variety in my pencil work. I usually do scan it like that though and desaturate everything before starting the color.
A week without post... shame on me!
I saw that a few of my co-workers put Meet the Robinsons stuff online so I guess we can do it now! :)
I didn't work a lot on this project. I was there during the early concept phase then I moved to Chicken Little 2. When the game was done, I came back to it for a few weeks.
Here are a few studies for Lizzy, the Ant Queen. For those who have seen the movie, you might have seen her in the science fair (just for a a few seconds...) The idea was to make an evil growing up version of her.
Tout un programme! :)
Enjoy!

One of the coolest things about these blogs, and your's in particular, is being able to see the behind the scenes work, the think tank stuff, of products that end up in the market place. It's a good reminder (especially here) that the best products are direct results of the best creators, artists - well teams.
I just love these works again. Seeing how people compose, starting with a pencil is very interesting to me. The color version is really cool. Reminds me of beatlejuice a little with the colors. Such attitude!
Keep it up!
